30 Years of Play: Industry Champion Awards


Nominations have opened for the 30 Years of Play Industry Champion awards and we’re inviting you to submit your suggestions from the last thirty years of our sector. 

The awards will recognise six individuals who have made a transformative or vital contribution to our sector across six categories. Those categories are: 

Business Champion.
An individual who has made a significant contribution to the business of games in the UK over the past three decades. 

Culture Champion.
A figure who has made a noted and sustained cultural contribution to our industry since 1989. 

Diversity Champion.
An individual who has promoted diversity within our sector effectively and has made a major difference to the cause.  

Unsung Hero.
Someone who you think has made a major contribution to the development of our sector but has – for whatever reason – gone unheralded. 

Education Champion.
A person who has helped support the industry by driving forward educational initiatives beneficial to the sector. 

Future Leader.
This award will go to an individual who is believed to be a potential leader in the making and who could shape our sector in the coming decades. 

The winners will then be announced during the Ukie birthday dinner as part of its Member’s Day on Wednesday 4th September. They will also be mingling at the event’s after party at the Barbican which is free to attend - register here.
